What are the hour fees for services provided?
As the accounting and tax service industry is very competitive, we provide flat rates for engagements to avoid miscommunication as to the total engagement fee. There are times in which providing flat fee rates is not possible due to the nature of the service. Please complete the Quote Form and we would be happy to provide a flat fee quote (or hourly rate if appropriate).
How do I get to your office?
Please see the “Contact Us” link and use the map to get directions.
What is your step-by-step process in taking on a new client?
There are four steps:
1) Prior to a meeting, I like to have a phone conversation to get enough background before I pursue a prospect. This helps me see if I would be a good fit for what you are looking for, provide me with key information that will allow our face-to-face meeting to be productive and efficient, as well as enough information provide an accurate quote for services.
2) Based on our initial phone conversation, I will send an email recapping our conversation, items to bring to the meeting, and key points that I am planning on discussing at our appointment.
3) Meet for a face-to-face appointment for up to one hour to meet, discuss services that you are looking for, and discuss the fee quote.
4) After our meeting, I send a follow-up email with key points discussed at the appointment so we are all on the same page. I will also send a more formal fee quote which must be approved by you.
Do you provide investment advice and consultation?
I am not a certified financial planner and therefore do not focus my efforts in the area of investments. I am connected to a network of financial planners with varying areas of specialties. If you would like to be connected to someone, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Do you do home appointments for individual tax preparation?
Yes, I do home appointments on a case-by-case basis. At times, my schedule does not permit me to do a home visit. I offer three convenient office locations where I can meet my prospects and clients. Please see the address locations in the "Contact Us" link.
How did Josh become an ELP for Dave Ramsey?
I was a lot like most of Dave Ramsey’s listeners in that I was introduced to his book Total Money Makeover from a relative who had randomly mailed me the book. I read it and thought there was some great information. However, I didn’t really get plugged into the material until one of my best friends gave me one of the FPU budgeting CD’s. It was the combination of these random acts that got me listening to Dave Ramsey on the radio. I was hooked immediately. I loved the stories, the motivation and the positive impact his message had on people’s lives. About three months into listening to him on the radio, I heard about this thing called an ELP. At first, I thought, what in the world is an ELP. As I started to understand who these professionals were, I became very excited because I had been going on the better part of a decade doing accounting and taxes and thought this program would be perfect for a Dave Ramsey fan like myself. I applied for the ELP position in early 2008 and didn’t hear back from the Dave Ramsey organization until late 2008. After some processing and figuring out if this was right for me AND for them, I started as the ELP for tax services in the greater Chicago land area. It has been quite a ride and an unbelievable experience. I appreciate each and every Dave Ramsey fan that shows interest in the tax services and gives me the chance to earn their trust and business.
